Global ABS Conference 2020

The Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization to the Convention on Biological Diversity is an international agreement of 128 Member States aims at sharing the benefits arising from the utilization of genetic resources in a fair and equitable way. It entered into force on 12 October 2014, 90 days after the date of deposit of the fiftieth instrument of ratification.

Five years after the implementation of the Nagoya Protocol, which is part of the Convention on Biodiversity the United Nations Development Programm organised a online programma: The Global Acces and Benefit Sharing (ABS) Conference streaming from facebook ABSproject to share experiences around the globe with the Nagoya Protocol five years after it’s implementation 1995.

Here are a few sessions made available, the first introduction (session 29-10-2020) was more a congratulation session and the last session on 25-11-2020 has not been made available, only on facebook.
